- 9th July 2017: Donation from the Brown family
The photograph shows Stacey-Anne Brown and her family at a ‘Gung Ho Race’ held in West Lothian in June 2017. Stacey is the daughter of West Lothian member Gordon Lourie and took part in the event to raise funds for the Support Group as a way of giving thanks for the help given to her mum and dad. A donation of £255 was made and we are very grateful indeed.

- 12 February 2017: Donation from John McGlashan
We are very grateful to member John McGlashan for a donation of £100 made recently. Your generosity is much appreciated.
- 6 February 2017: “Stunning” donation from Livingston Rotary and Sky TV!
A cheque has been received from Livingston Rotary as one of their top six charities for the year 2016 for no less that £1250! But there is more! Livingston Rotary is closely connected to Sky TV HQ in Livingston and they joined the Rotary in their Christmas Reindeer fund-raising events over Christmas. They then decided to match the Rotary Donations and gave each charity a further £1250. This total donation of £2500 is quite stunning. Many thanks to Livingston Rotary and Sky. - 12 July 2016: Donation from Chris Garner
ELPCSG member Chris Garner’s book “Prostate Cancer: A Natural Approach” was recently made available on Amazon Kindle as a downloadable e-book. This with undertaken by Cedric Pulford of Huri Publications who has made a donation of £100 to the group. Many thanks to both Chris and to Cedric.
- 12 July 2016: Ravelston Golf Club donation
We are extremely grateful to Ravelston Golf Club for their recent donation of £500 to support the work of the group. This is the second year in succession that the club have made a donation and we are extremely grateful to the members and to John Steyn, Club Captain.
- 3 July 2016: Donation from John Stewardson
Many thanks to John Stewardson who ran the Edinburgh Half Marathon festival on 29th. May 2016 and raised the magnificent sum of £385.71.
- 29 June 2016: another fantastic donation from Ferguson’s Bakery!
We are delighted to have received a further donation of £246.39 from the customers of Ferguson’s Bakeries. This follows a donation of £300 at the beginning of the year. Thanks to the many generous customers and to Jim and Sheena Ferguson.
- 24 June 2016: A “Touch of Tartan” raise funds
A ‘Touch of Tartan’ night in the community room at Braidburn Court on Friday 17 June 2016 raised £455 for the Edinburgh and Lothian Prostate Cancer Support Group. Around 40 enthusiastic individuals were entertained by ‘The Peerie Band’ who performed at no cost to the charity. A great night was enjoyed by all – and here are some photos! - 1 June 2016: Donation from West Highland Way walk
Gill Baker undertook a West Highland Way Walk at the end of May and has raised £615.00 on her Just Giving Page (with some gift aid still to be added). Gill is the daughter of John King in West Lothian and the fund raising is to thank the Group for the support of her dad. We are immensely grateful to Gill and sure her dad is very proud indeed!
- 27 May 2016: Donation given by Community Integrated Care, Uphall West Lothian
Our photograph shows Lauren Jones, a member of staff at Community Integrated Care, Uphall, West Lothian handing a cheque for £600 to Charlie Hogg of the Support Group. This followed a very successful 80s night held on 14 May. We are grateful to Lauren and her colleagues for making our Group their nominated charity.
- 13 April 2016: Donation from Jim and Sally Wylie
We are very grateful for a donation of £120 to the group from member Jim Wyllie and his wife Sally, collected from family and friends as part of their 40th. wedding anniversary. Congratulations!
- 30 November 2015: Funeral collection
We are very grateful to acknowledge the receipt of £105 from Isobel Balmer of Craigshill, Livingston; this was the collection at the funeral of her late husband Norman. Many thanks.

Many thanks to the congregation of Livingston South Community Church, following a fundraising event for Prostate Cancer charities. A donation of £150 was made and particular thanks go to Andy Mount.

We are very grateful for a donation of £50 from Margaret Whelan of West Lothian
- 17 March 2016: Donation from the Employees of DHL Livingston Rugby Team
We reported on 8 January 2016 that the we had received a donation from the Employees of DHL Livingston Rugby Team of £450 following a match played against Livingston Rugby Club. This sum has now been doubled to £900 - fantastic news for our group, and many thanks!
- 14 March 2016: Donation from Drago from a ‘manbake’!
Drago one of the partners in John Lewis Edinburgh organized a ‘manbake’ involving the partners within John Lewis Edinburgh. The baked cakes were then sliced off and sold to the staff and this resulted in a very generous donation to ELPCSG of £63.04.
- 5 February 2016: Donation from Ferguson’s Bakery
Customers of Ferguson’s Bakeries at Niddrie and Moredun have contributed the magnificent total of £303.55 to the group. Many thanks for your generosity!
- 17 January 2016: Donation from Lothianburn Golf Club
We are delighted to have received a donation of £100 from George Clark on behalf of his group of golfers who were formerly members of Lothianburn Golf Club (The ‘Burn’) which has now closed – they now play at Swanston. This generous donation was made from the group’s Saturday Morning Sweep (SMS). Many thanks!

- 3 September 2015 Donation from Ravelston Golf Club, Edinburgh
At their recent annual Charity Day, Ravelston Golf Club raised the sum of £400 – with Gift Aid this rises to £500.The money raised will be used for raising awareness of the Group and its aims, improving supports and information resources for men with Prostate Cancer and maintaining the help line and patient support/buddy system. The Group is extremely grateful to Ravelston Golf Club, its members and to John Steyn the Club Captain.
- 1 September 2015 Donation from Scottish Newfoundland Club
The Scottish Newfoundland Club have announced that they will donate all funds raised at their annual dog show to our support group! The show took place at Humbie Holdings, Wilkinson, Kirkliston on Sunday 30 August 2015 and a donation of £1500 will be made to the group shortly. This is a fantastic boost for our group and we are extremely grateful.

Chairman of ELPCSG Rob Lester collected a cheque from Jimmy Golder on Tuesday 4th November for £450. The money was collected at his father’s funeral as his father had died from prostate cancer. Jimmy Golder works at John Lewis and did a sponsored bike run for ELPCSG last year.
